“THREE COOL THINGS TO DO THIS SUMMER!”

Theatre Classes to excite and ignite your imagination at Salem Community Theatre! Monday, June 11-Friday, June 15. “Work Sharing Session” for parents, family and friends, Saturday, June 16 at 10 a.m. See your “stars” and find out about upcoming Youth Theatre classes and productions!

TALES FROM THE TREASURE CHEST… (Grades 1-3; 9:30 -10:30 a.m.) $50 per student

In this creative drama class, we will open our treasure chest and see what is inside! It may contain costume pieces, props, musical instruments, puppets or other “odds and ends” that we will play with and use to create a new story each day. Every day will be a new adventure, so “pack up” your imagination and join us! This class stresses developing the imagination, creative movement, verbal and listening skills and self confidence.

IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT…(Grades 4-6; 11 a.m.-12 noon) $50 per student

Students will learn the basics of acting, stage skills and performance techniques through the use of classic improvisational games and drama exercises. They will then apply those skills to create, rehearse and perform their own original mystery story. Chills and chuckles for everyone! Emphasis is on learning to be comfortable on stage, team work and self esteem.

ACTING 101

So, you want to be an actor? Never been on stage before? Have some experience, but want to sharpen your skills? This class covers the fundamentals of vocal techniques, body awareness, improvisation, character building, stage skills, script analysis and auditioning – everything you need to get started and ready for the upcoming theatre season!

All classes will be taught by Patricia M. Fagan. Class size is limited. To register and for further information, call (330) 788-1498.
